This Privacy Policy describes how Trachea Inc ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the AI Tutor: Learn Spoken English mobile application (the "App") and the https://aiface.cloud website (the "Site"), together the "Service".
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
Email address (or the email associated with your Google / Apple account if you sign in with social login)
Name (if provided via social login or during sign-up)
Password (stored only as a cryptographic hash; we never see your actual password)
1.2 Voice and Audio Data
The core feature of AI Tutor is voice conversation with an AI English tutor. To provide this:
We access your device microphone when you start a conversation. You control this via iOS permission settings.
Your voice is streamed to our servers and then to our speech-to-text provider (Deepgram) to transcribe what you said.
The transcribed text is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the tutor's spoken response.
Audio is not permanently retained. We process it only for the active conversation. Transcripts of conversations may be stored in your account so you can review your practice history.
1.3 Usage and Lesson Progress
Lessons started and completed, vocabulary learned, call duration, streak days, and analytics about your practice activity.
Device information (iOS version, app version) for diagnostics and compatibility.
1.4 Preferences
Tutor selection, learning goal, native language, target language level, daily goal, reminder settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
Provide core app functionality (voice conversations, lessons, progress tracking)
Personalize your learning experience
Fix bugs, improve stability, and develop new features
Authenticate you and protect your account
Communicate service updates and respond to your support requests
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your voice or text data to train generic AI models outside the scope of your session.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following service providers. Each receives only the minimum data needed to do its job:

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and has contractual obligations with us regarding data handling.
4. Children's Privacy
AI Tutor is intended for users 9 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 9. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at hello@tracheainc.com and we will delete the account and associated data.
5. Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
Conversation transcripts are kept so you can review practice history.
Raw audio is not retained beyond the current voice session.
Upon account deletion, all associated data (profile, conversations, progress) is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
6. Your Rights and Controls
You can:
Revoke microphone access anytime via iOS Settings → AI Tutor → Microphone.
Update your profile in the Profile tab.
Delete your account in-app via Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, conversations, and practice history.
Request a copy of your data by emailing hello@tracheainc.com.
Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and California have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA, including access, correction, deletion, and data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission. Account passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plaintext. Voice streams are transmitted over encrypted connections.
No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
